The Code is dead, long live the Home Quality Mark
As one leader suffers an invetable demise, so another rises to take its place and so we welcome with open hearts the babe in arms that is the Home Quality Mark (HQM). Untried, untested, as yet unwritten. Still, our hopes turn to this new and volutary standard. This new leader will look for popularity amongst the people to drive forward the better buildings agenda. Only time will tell whether it's star rating system and triple bottom line of cost, wellbeing and footprint will caputre the imagination of the British home buyer. For now though, we'll give it five stars for effort.
